Coursework One: Deadline Friday week 4

 

An individual assignment of 3 articles published on your own blog, which clearly outlines your personal position with regard to Knowledge Management Strategies and how that is likely to inform your own practice in creating the necessary conditions in an organisation of your choice for the facilitation and evaluation of such strategies. It will draw upon reflections from your readings, discussions with your action learning support groups, formative assessments and models in handouts.

 

 

Marking Guidance

 

The work will be assessed according the following:

·          Starting your Learning Journal Blog by Week 2                                                     [5 marks]

·          Comments on other blogs in the organisation during Weeks 1-4                              [5 marks]

·          Knowledge Concepts & Reflections on the following:

o    Knowledge Management Theory – evaluating the depth and breadth of the articles in using of core concepts, principles and assumptions for Knowledge Management;                                                                                                                            [10 marks]

o    Knowledge Management Critique – evaluating the critical analysis of the artcles in examining the impact of Knowledge Management on Organizations and thequality of discussionabout those issues.

Coursework Two: Deadline Friday week 8

 

A group assignment of up to 7000 words to be submitted  by the coursework deadline, which illustrates the role of IT in supporting knowledge management networks and/or communities of practice in organizations. Participants are required to design an online knowledge management network and/or community of practice, which serves a clear knowledge management purpose in an organization of their choice.

 

 

Marking Guidance

 

The work will be assessed according to two general categories:

Firstly, the Selection & Application of Social Tools and Technologies – evaluating the selection, integration andthe applicability of social tools and technologies to support Knowledge Management networks and/or communities of practice in organizations;                                                    [20 marks]

 

Secondly, audio visual presentation (plus supplementary notes, if necessary) to present your key findings and recommendations.  This will be an individual presentation, in class, lasting 10 – 15 minutes and each presentation will be assessed independently.  Tutor will advise students, during the term, about their marking scheme for the presentation.                                                           [20 marks]

It will draw upon reflections from your readings, discussions with your action learning support groups, formative assessments and models in handouts.
